( This post is currently being edited for publication and is incomplete. the whole will be back up in a few days, sorry Isaac, 22-6-2010 )
This post is dedicated to the memory of the beautiful mind and passion of Fangil Gareev
Doctor of Physics and mathematics, Professor at BLTP, JINR and Dubna University, full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. 01.01.1939-12.03.2009
" По мере того как сознательная мысль форма энергии, часть полной суммы конца вселенного. Путь энергии путь наименьшего сопротивления, и таким образом думал будет изыскивать восприимчивость в которой просвещенное сознавание пребывает. " -+ Исаак
" As conscious thought is a form of energy, it is part of the total end sum of the universe. The path of energy is the path of least resistance, and thus thought will seek the open mind in which the enlightened consciousness resides. " -+ Isaac

I want to explain to you, in a more understandable way hopefully, exactly how solar flares excite and cause flux reactions in hydrocarbon gases in the Earth's crust .
This is very relevant, as we are coming into the peak of a solar cycle. I realize that you may have never read about these things before, and may be somewhat intimidated by the information contained in this post.
so I will give you the simplest explanation I can. My explanation will take you through several sciences like:
Cold fusion/LENR( low energy nuclear reactions )
The term "cold fusion" originated in 1989 when Martin Fleishmann and Stanley Pons claimed achieving nuclear fusion at room temperature with a simple, inexpensive tabletop device. That claim fomented an international sensation because nuclear fusion holds potential for providing the world with a virtually limitless new source of energy.
When other scientists could not reproduce the Pons-Fleishmann results, research on cold fusion fell into disrepute. Humiliated by the scientific establishment, their reputations ruined, Pons and Fleishmann closed their labs, fled the country, and dropped out of sight. The handful of scientists who continued research avoided the term "cold fusion." Instead, they used the term "low energy nuclear reactions (LENR)." Research papers at the ACS symposium openly refer to "cold fusion" and some describe cold fusion as the "Fleishmann-Pons Effect" in honor of the pioneers, Marwan noted.
"The field is now experiencing a rebirth in research efforts and interest, with evidence suggesting that cold fusion may be a reality." Marwan said. He noted, for instance, that the number of presentations on the topic at ACS National Meetings has quadrupled since 2007.

The research of Fangil Gareev are related to the study of one- and two-nucleon transfer reactions, the development of quasielastic processes and charge-exchange reactions at low and intermediate energies of nucleon beams and light ions as well as the development of new methods of their theoretical description. Further numerous applications of these methods showed their efficiency in many problems of nuclear and atomic physics. These Gareev’s works won international recognition and were awarded four JINR prizes.
Has developed a universal cooperative principle of resonance synchroni-zation for explanation on equal footing of various natural phenomena in micro and macrosystems. The observed rhythms and simultaneity of many pheno-mena can be treated as reflection of this universal property of self-organization of the Universe.
F.A.Gareev-Came to the conclusion that a cold transmutation of nuclei is possible within a modern physical theory --- a universal cooperative reson-ance synchronization is responsible for this phenomenon, and low-energy ex-ternal effects serve as a trigger for nuclear processes. To study this phenomenon, one should have integral knowledge in various fields of science: nuclear and atomic physics, chemistry and electrochemistry, condensed matter and solid state physics, Investigations into these fields of research may provide new ecologically pure sources of energy, matter and technologies.

A. First, you know that solar storms produce particle winds that are cast in the direction of Earth. The Sun's geomagnetic storms are cyclical in nature, occurring on a regular basis. This has been confirmed by NASA through various satellite studies.
The average eleven year solar cycle can be divided into four inactive years with a small number of flare events (solar minimum) and seven active years with a large number of events (solar maximum). During the solar minimum phase, few significant solar flare events occur; therefore, only the seven active years of the solar cycle are usually considered for spacecraft mission evaluations. Large solar flare events may occur several times during each solar maximum phase. Events last from several hours to a few days. The proton energies may reach a few hundred MeV and the heavy ion component ranges in energy from 10s of MeV/n to 100s of GeV/n. As with the galactic cosmic ray particles, the solar flare particles are attenuated by the earth's magnetosphere. The component of the environment that presents the largest uncertainty in predictions is the solar flare protons. Some solar cycles contain no extremely large flares at all. Other cycles contain as many as eight extremely large events .
Even though it only accounts for a minuscule fraction of total solar radiation, the impact of solar UV, EUV and X-ray radiation on the Earth's upper atmosphere is profound. Solar UV flux is a major driver of stratospheric chemistry, and increases in ionizing radiation significantly affect ionosphere-influenced temperature and electrical conductivity.
Here is a graphic showing not only the increasing overall intensity of solar storm cycles, but also a 2-D representation of the " shape " of particle clouds from the Sun .

There are two basic marine electromagnetic ( EM) techniques currently in use for hydrocarbon exploration: the broadband marine magnetotelluric method (MT) and the controlled source EM (CSEM) method. In the MT method, seafloor recordings of Earth’s naturally occurring electric and magnetic fields are used to estimate the electrical conductivity of the seafloor geology to depths of about 10 kilometers. In the CSEM method, a deep-towed electric field dipole is used to broadcast a controlled EM energy signal through the subsurface and back to an array of seafloor receivers, with sensitivity to structures at shallower depths than the MT method. While the MT method is preferentially sensitive to conductive structures, the CSEM method is preferentially sensitive to resistive structures, and in particular can detect the thin resistive layers of a gas reservoir. Unlike the MT method, in which the ionospheric source of energy is mainly one dimensional, the CSEM method uses a transmitter which generates a 3D source of energy, and so calculating the CSEM response over a 2D geological structure is usually termed a 2.5D problem, which is the combination of 3D and 2D modeling results.
This works because the electrical resistivity of any gas is measurable.
